Designed to take advantage of the vertical space on this narrow lot, this new dwelling focuses towards the outdoor environment, integrating the indoor-outdoor living possible year round in Southern California. A three-story atrium of Low-E glass with a full wall of sliding panels connects to the garden, and enables reflections of water from the pool to dance throughout the day within the house as the sun changes positions. A thermal chimney provides economical natural ventilation, and solar panels contribute to off-the grid power, all enveloped in natural materials that are warm and welcoming within the open plan living spaces. Scope included exterior & interior architectural design, millwork and interior design, all finishes, furniture and landscape design.
